Lifesaver!

Two people can be together for what feels like forever, share a home and even a sofa, and still never get the shopping right.
That was us. We trusted ourselves to remember everything, and more often than not the key ingredient went missing halfway through cooking.
Our front door was a memory leak: whatever we needed slipped out of our heads on the way out, and came flooding back, with a wave of regret, the moment we walked in.
Something had to change.

We tried notes, magnets on the fridge, smoke signals, with little to no effect.
So we went digital and tried the apps everyone recommends. One after another, they taught us that we weren't after more features, only the right ones.
A tick that appears the moment it's made, so nobody reaches the car park before learning what's still missing.
A list that walks the shop the way we do, instead of sending us back down an aisle we've just left.
And underneath it all, a simple truth:
the person shopping wants one clean pass through the store, and the person writing wants to stop wondering whether it arrived.
Nothing we tried was made for both.

So we built it ourselves, for the two of us.
The first hard thing was making a list that is truly one list. Not two phones politely catching each other up, but a single thing you both hold at once, where a tick on one side is already there on the other.
The second was teaching it the shape of a real shop, so it remembers where things live and leads you through in the order you walk.
Neither came easily, and for a while we were building something clever that one of us never quite opened. That was the lesson that changed everything.
Cartee didn't need to impress the person making it. It needed to be the thing the other person reaches for without being asked.
Once it was, everything got easier. Every decision simpler, every trip to the shop calmer, and dinner, finally, with everything in it.

Not a day goes by without Cartee in our home, the one it was made for.
If it works this well for us, we believe it can work for you too. And if you share your home with someone, only one of you ever needs to pay for it.
If something would make it better for you, tell us. We'd love to hear it.
